GoodWeave NYC Launch

RugMark officially launched the GoodWeave brand in New York City last month, with events culminating in a reception held at the offices of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF (USF). The launch’s success is in no small part due to our partners getting the word out about events, announcing the new brand on their blogs and websites, donating rugs to a silent auction benefiting RugMark and USF, and simply being with us to celebrate our progress. Click here to see a slideshow of some photos from the reception, which featured GoodWeave certified rugs by indiB, Odegard, CariniLang and Company C.

For those of you who were not able to make it to the industry brunch and briefing held Sept. 22, we have made the presentation available online. Click here to download a copy (1 MB).

GoodWeave.org Goes Live

We are pleased to announce that our new, streamlined website GoodWeave.org went live last week. The site showcases our industry partners more than ever, with profiles that integrate rug images, showroom information, company stories and more. We invite you to browse the new site and give us any feedback as it is still a work in progress. As always, we rely on you to let us know of any changes to your retailer lists, contact information or other information on your profile.  Please also make sure that any links you have on your own website are updated accordingly.

New Collateral Materials Available

Samples of the new collateral materials, including point-of-sale brochures, “certificate of origin” cards, and window decals, will be making their way to you in the next few weeks. Please let us know if you have any immediate needs for materials and we will get them out to you as soon as we can. Licensed partners have unlimited access to collateral materials; just let us know what you need.

Custom GoodWeave Banners Available

We are pleased to offer new GoodWeave banners to partners, customized with your company name/logo and rug image. These 12” x 72” banners have been popular amongst members as a cost-effective and impactful way to promote your company’s affiliation with the GoodWeave program, whether for a trade show or showroom. RugMark is underwriting the design cost; members simply pay for the printing ($84 through our preferred vendor). Contact us for more details.

Co-Brand with GoodWeave

We are excited to see new partner materials coming out with the new GoodWeave logo and tagline, to include new brochures by Lapchi and M&M Design; New Moon’s ad now out in Luxe magazine; and Malene B’s press kit.

As you know by now, the GoodWeave logo is available in a variety of formats to accommodate your various marketing needs. To access the logo and other online collateral referenced throughout the newsletter, use the login information below:

Luxe Joins as Media Sponsor

As announced in New York, Luxe Interiors + Design magazine has come on board as a GoodWeave media sponsor for 2010. In addition to running the new GoodWeave ad pro bono, Luxe is offering GoodWeave members special advertising offers. Luxe reaches an exclusive readership, to include newsstand distribution at nearly 50 airports reaching private jet travelers nationwide. Click here to download a copy of the offer letter, which provides more details.

“Thousands of Knots” Ad Campaign

Soon consumers will be introduced to GoodWeave through a new advertising campaign created by award-winning firm Leagas Delaney. The ad calls attention to the “human knot” on the GoodWeave label -- the only label that offers the peace of mind of a child-labor-free rug. The new ad will be running in Interior Design, Dwell and other sponsoring publications soon. A special version of the ad, co-branded with seven partners, including Rosemary Hallgarten, Custom Cool, Kooches, and Liza Phillips Design, appeared in a special design issue of The New York Times Magazine on October 4.

Where Are GoodWeave Rugs?

As you begin to get in new GoodWeave-labeled rugs and get them placed in beautiful and interesting interiors, let us know! We will be looking to refresh our “Where Are Certified Rugs?” flash presentation on GoodWeave.org, which previously featured rugs in such venues as the J. Paul Getty Museum, the home of actor Kelsey Grammar and the set of Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice.”
